Kickin’ Chicken Teams Up With Carolina Children’s Charity

IMG THREE

Kickin’ Chicken has a long-standing partnership with Carolina Children’s Charity, one of our core charities. Carolina Children’s Charity is committed to serving the needs of local children with birth defects and/or childhood diseases since 1987. The charity started in 1987, raises money through their many events including the Boot Drive and Run/Walk.

During the month of March, Kickin’ Chicken participates in the annual Boot Drive by hosting firefighters to take collections at our Summerville store. For every $5 donated, we give $5 in Kickin’ Cash in return. This money collected by our firefighters goes straight to helping children with birth defects and disabling diseases of Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, and Colleton counties. Whichever station raises the most money, gets a meal on us from our food truck, The Chicken Coupe!

In addition, Kickin’ Chicken will also be involved in the upcoming 15th Annual Carolina Children’s Charity 5K Run/Family Fun Walk on Saturday, September 22nd. This year’s event will include two bands, jump castles, food trucks, mascot appearances and much more! We will be handing out food to all of the participants and cheering them on! Head here for more information on how you can sign up to participate!

In addition to these two annual events, we also volunteer for Carolina Children’s Charity by helping with our local fire departments, golf tournaments, Days of Broadcast with News 2, and the cornhole tournament. Executive Director of the charity, Sonya Beale, says, “Kickin’ Chicken has been one of our loyal business supporters for many years. CCC is fortunate to be one of the core charities they support.” She continues to say, “We are grateful for their continued support and appreciate all their generosity.”

As always, Kickin’ Chicken is committed to the Charleston community and being a helping hand in any way possible. To learn more about our work with the community, read about our Kickin’ Culture here.
